A little while ago, I made a gender reveal cake for a friend. The idea behind it was that the outside of the cake was decorated with gender neutral colors, and the inside was colored pink. When the mommy-to-be cut into the cake, she knew she was having a girl!
The cake was pink vanilla on the inside, with vanilla marshmallow fondant and vanilla buttercream. The top of the cake was quilted and pastel colored flowers were placed where the lines intersected. I also made my first fondant bow, which although tedious, turned out great!
Fast forward a few months and I'm working on a baby shower cake for an absolutely beautiful little girl!
Cakes are in the oven and I'm working on some fondant cherry blossoms as we speak. Pictures to follow!
As always, comments are welcome and appreciated:)
